Warren County Jail Overview
The Warren County Correctional Center is the main adult detention facility for Warren County. It is operated by the Warren County Corrections Department under the Warren County Board of County Commissioners, and the county identifies Warden Daniel Broesder as the officer in direct command. The facility is not a New Jersey state prison, a Federal Bureau of Prisons institution, or a stand-alone immigration detention center. It is the local county jail for adult offenders arrested for violations of Warren County laws and ordinances.
The Warren County jail sits in Belvidere near the county government complex. It houses male and female adults, including people awaiting court action, people serving local sentences, and eligible participants in county alternatives such as the County Labor Assistance Program. Hunterdon County is also part of the local custody picture. Hunterdon County states that, since January 2020, its Division of Corrections has contracted with Warren County to house all Hunterdon County inmates at the Warren County Jail after Hunterdon processing.
Warren County Jail Population
The county's correctional overview says the jail opened in 1986 with an original design capacity of 76 adult offenders. Internal renovations later raised the operating capacity to 176 adult offenders. The same county source reports an average daily population between 145 and 155 male and female adult offenders, plus about 20 adults in the County Labor Assistance Program and up to 6 adults and 6 juveniles on electronic monitoring.
Those figures put the in-facility daily count below the current operating capacity, but they do not mean every person tied to the jail is sleeping in a housing unit. CLAP and electronic monitoring are alternative custody or sentence-service tracks. Vera Institute data separately reported 100 people incarcerated in Warren County on an average day in May 2022, down from 117 in May 2019. That Vera snapshot is useful history, while the county's current overview is the better source for the facility's present operating description.
Warren County Inmate Lookup

Warren County Jail Visits
The official Warren County visitation rules require each visitor to be on the inmate's visitor list, which is completed during intake. Visitors must arrive at least 15 minutes early, show valid identification, complete screening, and bring no items into the visit area. Purses, wallets, cell phones, and other valuables should be secured in a vehicle or a locker outside the lobby. Visitors can be scanned or pat-frisked, and refusal can end the visit.
Most public visit timing depends on housing assignment. The county says non-contact weekday visit schedules are obtained by contacting the jail. Contact visits for sentenced inmates are a narrower category and occur only as approved. Anyone needing special accommodations should contact the jail before arrival, and clothing rules are enforced for short, transparent, low-cut, or otherwise inappropriate garments.

Warren County Mail Money Phone
The official inmate mail page requires incoming mail to show the sender's name and address, plus the inmate's name, inmate number, and the facility address. Books and magazines must come directly from the publisher. Money orders may be sent by mail with the sender's name and address, but cash and personal checks should not be sent. The county lists several prohibited items, including stamps, sexual photos, clothing, blank envelopes, and envelopes with stickers, crayon, lipstick, or foreign objects.

The telephone page says inmates have unlimited calls for 72 hours while in intake or until general population placement, as long as they cooperate with correctional and medical staff. Warren County Booking Intake
Warren County does not publish a public step-by-step booking manual, but the facility pages describe several intake facts. The jail classifies people upon entry to decide the supervision level and housing area. It uses minimum, medium, and maximum security areas inside a podular building with both remote and direct supervision. During intake, the telephone page says the person receives an Inmate Telephone Authorization Form for approved numbers, including up to ten family or friend numbers, three bail agency numbers, and private attorney numbers.
Money and property rules also start at intake. The account page says inmates may not possess money or valuables, and money taken at arrival goes into the inmate's personal account. The visitor list is also tied to intake because the visitation page says all visitors must be on the list completed by the inmate. For people posting bail, intake and release do not end just because money exists. The jail must verify bail, holds, receipts, and court conditions before release.

Warren County Bail Posting
The official bail posting page tells anyone interested in posting bail to call the Warren County Correctional Center first and verify the inmate's bail amount. Cash is not accepted at the jail. During normal business hours, bail can be posted at the municipality or Superior Court where charges originated, and the receipt must be taken to the Correctional Center for verification before release. On a 24-hour basis, bail can be posted at the jail by money order.
The county also says any criminal charge heard in Superior Court includes a $50 non-refundable filing fee. That is separate from the jail's $50 booking fee. New Jersey pretrial practice does not mean every person has a cash bail amount. Warren County Jail Programs
Warren County's local program details are more specific than a generic jail description. CLAP lets eligible defendants sentenced to straight time apply to serve required days on weekends while remaining in the community during the rest of the week. Participants perform visible labor in the community, and corrections officials monitor admission and compliance. The Electronic Monitoring Program is available to adults and juveniles as an alternative to traditional detention, with staff monitoring compliance with program rules.
